The author of this article is Amrita (2nd on right side, brown glasses) o from Australia.  Bondi Beach is a popular beach and the name of the surrounding suburb in Sydney, Australia. Bondi Beach is located 7 kilometres east of the Sydney central business district, in the local government area of Waverley Council, in the Eastern Suburbs. Bondi, North Bondi and Bondi Junction are neighbouring suburbs.

Bondi beach is an icon of Australian culture. If you are traveling to Australia, even for a short break, there is one place that should be top of your list of places to see: Bondi Beach!

Of course, the number one reason people come to Bondi is to enjoy the waves! Whether you are swimming or surfing, the water feels great throughout the long summer months. And if it’s your first time at the beach, try the Bondi Beach Surf Experience, a two-hour program that will teach you the basics of surfing, including how to recognize the surf conditions, how to get out into the surf, and up onto your first wave.

While the surf itself is amazing, be careful of the surfboards! On hot days, the beach becomes packed with swimmers and, of course, surfers. Be careful to swim between the flags, away from the surfers. You don’t want to get your teeth knocked out by a stray surfboard!

Vacation at Pink Sands Beach Harbour Island, Bahamas

Aug 31, 2009 Author: Guru | Filed under: Ex Pat

Harbour Island is most renowned for its pale pink sand beaches some 3 plus miles long and 50 to 100 feet wide – considered one of the very best beaches in the Bahamas. The sand is a composition of bits of coral, broken shells, minute rocks and calcium carbonate from tiny marine invertebrates. The pink color comes from tiny microscopic shelled animals known as Foraminifera. This animal has a bright pink or red shell full of holes through which it extends a footing, called pseudopodia which it uses to attach itself and feed. The pink sand is memorizing and you can walk out into the Ocean for hundreds of feet. It is hard to imagine a more perfect beach as it seemed to have everything.

The Software City Bangalore, India

Aug 31, 2009 Author: Guru | Filed under: Modeling

Bangalore  is the capital of the Indian state of Karnataka. Bangalore is nicknamed the Garden City and was once called a pensioner’s paradise. Located on the Deccan Plateau in the south-eastern part of Karnataka, Bangalore is India’s third most populous city and fifth-most populous urban agglomeration. As of 2009, Bangalore was inducted in the list of Global cities and ranked as a “Beta World City” alongside cities such as Geneva, Copenhagen, Boston, Cairo, Riyadh, Berlin, in the studies performed by the Globalization and World Cities Study Group and Network in 2008.

Though historical references to the city predate AD 900, a modern written history of continuous settlement exists only from 1537, when Kempe Gowda I, a vassal of the imperial Vijayanagara Empire built a mud-brick fort at the site and established it as a province of the empire. During the British Raj, it became a centre of colonial rule in South India. The establishment of the Bangalore Cantonment brought in large numbers of migrants from other parts of the country.
