Probably these NRI friends were looking for best beach vacation. They ended in Caribbean and visited Pink Sands Beach. This summer we had quite a lot of contributions from our readers visiting beaches. This is another. Shanti (blue blouse) visited Caribbean with her friends.

Harbour Island is most renowned for its pale pink sand beaches some 3 plus miles long and 50 to 100 feet wide – considered one of the very best beaches in the Bahamas. The sand is a composition of bits of coral, broken shells, minute rocks and calcium carbonate from tiny marine invertebrates. The pink color comes from tiny microscopic shelled animals known as Foraminifera. This animal has a bright pink or red shell full of holes through which it extends a footing, called “pseudopodia” which it uses to attach itself and feed.

Being the heart of Spain, Madrid has been a cosmopolitan city and has served as an administrative center, business center and plays a major role in the Industrial and banking sector. This city is characterized by very artistic and intense cultural lifestyle.

As the Capital of Spain, Madrid enjoys the highly reputable position of being the forerunner in politics, finance, administration and services making it a highly cosmopolitan state. Madrid is filled with history and architectural marvels with important heritage and artistic culture. Madrid is located 646 meters above sea level and is centrally located in the Iberian Peninsular. Madrid is an exemplary capital where the old architecture blends perfectly well with the modern day art and infrastructure.

Sanju loved the art and history of Madrid. There are approximately 73 museums in total in Madrid all catering to different areas of knowledge and amongst them is the Prado museum which is one of the greatest art galleries of the world.

Sanju says living in Madrid is like a party life, Madrid has a nice warm subtle climate which is reflected in the attitude of its people who are warm, friendly and accommodating. Several concerts, ballets, exhibitions, movie releases and selected theater productions are often held in Madrid, making it a hub for the entertainment industry.

Sanju still remembers the taste of red vine of Madrid. Sanju want to make friends in Spain, as she is planning to go back over there soon.
