Marriage In Pakistan

May 8, 2009 Author: Guru | Filed under: Pakistani Girls

FYI Marriage in Pakistan is seen as the most standard and stable living form for adults. A marriage is seen not only as a link between man and a women but it is also considered a union between their parents’ families.

Most marriages in Pakistan are therefore arranged. Arranged marriages have been an integral part of Pakistani society for centuries and it is quite normal for people to have their marriages planned by their parents and other respected family-members. Arranged matches are made after taking into account factors such as the backgrounds of their families (wealth, social standing, caste). Often a marriage is made within the extended family, such as between cousins.

Polygamy is permitted under Pakistani law, however, it is now the exception rather than the norm and is very uncommon in the major cities. A husband is more likely to get himself a second wife, or recommended by family members to have a second marriage, if he remains childless with the first wife.

Our friends in Hyderabad love to party. Muhammad Quli Qutb Shah (1580-1611 CE) was the fifth sultan of the Qutb Shahi dynasty of Golkonda in south India. He founded the city of Hyderabad, India and built its architectural centerpiece, the Charminar. He was an able administrator and his reign is considered one of the high points of the Qutb Shahi dynasty. He ascended to the throne in 1580 at the age of 15 and ruled for thirty-one years. He modeled the well planned city of Hyderabad on the then legendary city of Esfahan of Persia, in his words unparalleled in the world and a replica of heaven itself.
